  Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response - Awareness Level / Refresher     Length: 4 Hours  
  The initial responders at the HAZWOPER - awareness level are trained to initiate an emergency response sequence by notifying the proper authorities. The workshop will review identification of hazardous material classifications, hazardous substances, spill/leak procedures, release types, chemical first-aid, and notification requirements. Evacuation procedures are provided to participants that are likely to witness or discover a hazardous substance release. This workshop meets the requirements of Cal-OSHA General Industry Safety Orders §5192(q)(6).

Who should attend: Public Works Employees, Public Works - Street Maintenance, Public Works - Water/Sanitation

Frequency of training: Recommended every 2 years
