Planning for ADA Compliance: ADA Coordinator Training

This course provides an introduction to accessibility requirements and the role of public entities to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and related accessibility standards and regulations. Participants will understand the core accessibility requirements of the ADA, methods to comply with the ADA, and ways to reduce the risk of discrimination toward persons with disabilities. Participants will learn the job functions of the ADA Coordinator, which include effective accessible communication, tracking data such as complaints and grievances, managing the public input process, developing policies (e.g., for emergency evacuations, alternate formats), and implementing and overseeing the entity’s self-evaluation and transition plan.
